These mobiles with their long and complicated names operate on a few levels. Sometimes they are props for audience member selfie shots, other times they’re metaphors for my lack of clarity. I couldn’t help but think of Roy Lichtenstein’s Pop paintings when making these, hence the references to Brad and Jane in the titles.
Shown here installed as part of the exhibition Out of Time in 2018.
Photography by Christian Capurro.

Acrylic, rope and pulley.
Arlo Mountford, Jane is counting the seconds, juggling anger at the situation with the sense that rage could pre-empt the revolution… a revolution obvious, but despite this still unseen.
Acrylic, rope and pulley.
Arlo Mountford, Brad seems to be balancing the responsibility for our predicament with the acknowledgement that our future requires a revolution… one visible only at the periphery of his vision.
