A gratuitously referenced title Dan Graham Conical Ashersect was exhibited as part of the exhibition Ode at Bus Projects. The piece is a play on Michael Asher’s removal of the gallery wall with his exhibition at Claire Copley Gallery, Los Angeles from 1974 as well as Gordon Matta-Clark ‘s Conical Intersect from 1975 and Dan Graham’s live video performances during the 1970’s. The work consisted of a live feed from the video camera to a projector which created the conical shape on the wall, at the center of the cone a hole was cut which revealed the office of Bus Projects. It was accompanied by a recording of myself singing a jingle to Dan Graham.
HDV video camera and data projector, single channel sound. Dimensions variable.
