In 2013 I was commissioned by the Australian War Memorial in Canberra to make moving image backgrounds for two WW1 diorama’s, Mont St Quentin and Desert Patrol. For desert patrol, bronze’s by Charles Web Gilbert had been used to depict a light horse patrol in the Sinai desert. I used the AWM archive to find sketches, paintings and photographs to develop the moving image background. Like Mont St Quentin each hour of the eight hour duration plays in real time depicting the time of day.
